When Venus danced with the moon in the ev’n
The stars in the dark sang along
And sun, pale with jealousy, watched from her perch
Transfixed by their wondrous song.
The goddess of love offered blissful embrace
To her lover, the ruler of night
And earth stood serene, a great joy to be seen
Gently bathed by the moon’s silver light.
The rivers grew silent, the mountains were hushed
And valleys gazed up toward the sky
All seas came becalmed and gently they watched
Adoration unleashed from on high.
Ethereal splendor broke over them all,
Aurora woke ever too soon
And magical grace caressed all living things
The night Venus danced with the moon.
